We are Home Days 1 and 2

We are home.
It is a mix of joy and sadness. I already miss the children of Kenya.
There is so much to tell you. God did amazing things while we were there.
The team is being called one of the best in showing Gods love in a long time.
We all worked hard and were able to get all we planned done.

I will not be able to put it all on one blog so over the next couple of days I will fill you in on
what God did on each day.

Day 1

As you know our flight was delayed causing many challenge just getting to Kenya. We had
an idea after this that devil was trying to stop us. He would try many more times
on our trip but never succeed.
After a layover in Paris, France

Day 2

We finally made it to Kenya. The kids were waiting for us at Grace Children's Home. They were so excited. For me it was so wonderful to see they ones that all remembered me and were so excited to see me. They were calling out my name.

We spent the day touring the GCC compound and seeing the new home being built. We played hard with the kids and then got down to work. Writing letters to the children's supporters and helping out in the kitchen. But mostly we just held and loved on the kids.

Then in the afternoon we took 25 kids to the Giraffe Park. there they fed the giraffes many by putting the pellets in their mouths for the Giraffe to grab. Needless to say our team was not beyond doing it too... The kids had a wonderful time and so did the team.

Day two was Sunday.

We spend the morning at Church on the Rock. I can not even begin to describe what it is like to worship with our Kenyan sisters and brothers. Even though we did not understand all that was being said or the words sung we all felt like we never missed a thing. We were so blessed.

We then all had lunch with the "Senior Youth" (Singles) God laid it on the heart of some of the team to stay and help me and Belinda with our talk. It was perfect. After talking to them about being used by God and that Every Step of their live is meant to bring them closer to God, we split up into smaller groups were they could open up. And they did!!

Here is the Song by Tami (Crist)Starkel we used for our talk.

Lord, I am glad you didn’t let me look ahead,
To see the trials I would have to face.
I would have lived my life caught up in fear and rage,
And missed a lot of joys along the way.
On this journey I have had my share of tears.
Lonely days when it was hard to understand.
But you whisper to me gently child I’m here,
And I knew that you were holding to my hand.

Every step that I have taken,
Every valley I walked through
I have seen that your grace can not be shaken
Every step brought me closer Lord, to you.

I have known a peace that I can not explain
When everything around me fell apart.
For your promises brought hope within my pain,
And you would heal the wounds inside my heart.

When me feet could not go on another mile
For the road had left me tiered and oh so week.
I would hear you whisper child come rest awhile
Then you would hold me close and weep along with me.

Every step that I have taken
Every valley I walked through
I have seen that your grace can to be shaken
Every step brought me closer Lord, to you!

God moved that day in great ways among the singles of Kenya.

We then went back to join the rest of the team with the games at GCC.

I will write more tomorrow. I am working on getting our photos uploaded on to my web site too so you can all see them.
